 | They felt Hong-Li was a perfect candidate. He was already well educated and genuinely sought deliverance. .”
God as my Father to guide me<
As Hong-Li read and studied the Scriptures, his character changed. He experienced deliverance in his life, and had a newfound passion to share the Gospel with hurting people. After four years of Biblical training, his journey began. .”
“Serving the Lord is a joy,” shares Hong-Li today. “During the years of my Bible training, God gave me a beautiful wife. Together, we minister to a minority tribe located deep in the forest. We walk for hours to reach them, and have witnessed hundreds of people become set free from their evil lifestyles to follow Jesus Christ. I am grateful my grandmother did not give up on me, and remain confident since I have God as my Father to guide me.”.”
“Surely the arm of the Lord is not too short to save, nor his ear too dull to hear.” (Isaiah 59:1 NIV)
| Hong-Li lived a fatherless life. At a young age, his mother re-married and sent him to live with his grandmother to receive a proper education. .”
Rebellion
The scars of living without his parents ran deep. While living with his grandmother, Hong-Li began a life of trouble—skipping school and drinking with his friends. He often slept on the streets and disappeared for days at a time. During this time of rebellion, his grandmother connected with believers in an underground church near her village. She cried out to God for many months to save her grandson, but saw no sign of change. .”
Seeking deliverance
One day, Hong-Li returned to his grandmother’s home; sad, lonely, and depressed. “As soon as I saw him I sent him to the church,” shares his grandmother. “I knew the Christians would accept him there.” And they did. At the time, the church was recruiting young people for service. |
